Legendary trumpet player, Taps Tucker, is humiliated on the Lin-Z Pierce show when The Misfits crash his interview and harass him. Outraged, Jem and The Holograms visit Taps and offer to help him put his famous Taps Tucker Band back together.

A record producer interested in putting out a jazz album gives The Holograms twenty-four hours to reunite the group before he closes a deal with Eric Raymond instead. Eric, determined to get his own jazz album produced, enlists The Misfits to help him prevent them from tracking down the other musicians in time.
