The Jem Jam (Part 1) is the 23rd episode of Jem.
Synopsis
The Misfits plot to ruin the "Jem Jam", a benefit concert Jem is planning, by tricking Luna Dark (a Madonna-esque singer) into coming with them, while Krissie must deal with Lena Lerner's (a Tina Turner-like pop star) spoiled son, Dominic (who resembles a young Michael Jackson). Meanwhile, Ba Nee is sure that Randy James, a red-haired drummer, is her father.
This episode also featured other characters based on real life celebrities from the era: Roland Owens, who resembles Stevie Wonder; Ron Cox, who resembles Mick Jagger; and Johnny Deacon, who resembles Bruce Springsteen.

- Aja knows some martial arts. According to the Jem Bible, the style was Aikido.
- There wasn't a main title as the show opened or any song titles in this episode.
- Lin-Z asks everyone to rock along with today's music video as she introduces "I Can See Me" and now here's today's special encore music video for "A Father Should Be".
- Notice as Jem is talking to Randy and Johnny, she almost gives herself away by saying that "Ba Nee is one of my... Jerrica's foster girls."
- This is the first episode that doesn't feature any songs by Jem and The Holograms and the third for The Misfits.
- It was Hasbro's idea to give the Starlight Girls their own songs. This was connected to the fact that Hasbro decided to make dolls of these girls, which were originally created by Christy Marx.
- A whole scene was cut out of this episode, which showed how Clash got into Starlight Music and obtained the information.
